Resolutions for the New Year

“You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. ‘For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.’ And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.” 2 Corinthians 9:7-8

A mindset of generosity is formed by one generous decision after another. This year, why not start thinking small by finding a new charity to support, upping your annual gifts, or thinking of a new way you can support the church. Leaving a legacy of generosity begins with a daily choice to be generous with your time, talents, gifts, money, and possessions. Choose to think generously this year.

New Year’s Resolutions to Consider

  • Create a bequest to your church or charity in your will
  • Create a living trust to protect you, your assets, and your heirs
  • Create an endowment fund that will support your church or a ministry for life
  • Invest in the Foundation’s Development Fund to earn interest and help churches and United Methodist ministries receive loans
